Bio: Paul Tappenden
Paul Tappenden has been a painter for over 40 years, His work is in collections spanning four continents. Many of his watercolors, acrylics and murals have found their way into collections in Rockland, Manhattan and throughout the Tri-State area, and his scenic painting can be seen on over 50 movies, as well as Broadway and television.

He has an impressive list of clients and collectors, including Ralph Lauren, Helen Hayes, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Essex House, Regency and Plaza Hotels, NY and Betsy Whitney.
Tappenden was awarded The 2003 County Executive’s Award in Visual Arts, and the Pride of Rockland Award for the Arts. In 2006 he was recognized as Artist of the Year by the Arts Alliance of Haverstraw.From 2003 to 2008 he was a member of the Rockland County Art in Public Places Committee. He also served on the Exhibitions Committee at the Rockland Center for the Arts, from 1999 to 2006.Tappenden has had a studio at Garnerville Arts & Industrial Center for the past 6 years.
Bio: Joanna Dickey
Joanna Dickey graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester with a bachelor’s degree in studio art, where she gained several arts awards. Since 2003 Dickey has enjoyed working with environmental artist Laurie Seeman of Strawtown Art and Garden Studio in developing nature art programs for children, adults, and bereavement populations.

Together they have created environmental education workshops for the Riverkeeper Organization, The Nature Conservancy, and the Fire Department of NY, among many others. Dickey has been involved in the placement and hanging of art work in the Blue Hill Arts and Cultural Center for the last year and a half. In September 2005 Dickey joined artist Paul Tappenden in his studio at the Garnerville Arts and Industrial Center to become his assistant and apprentice. She soon became more than a mere assistant, helping Tappenden to develop new techniques and collaborating on several series of pieces. Since 2005 they have exhibited their work in 16 shows, including the NY Art Expo, GAGA Arts Festival, New York University, and in galleries in Manhattan and Santa Fe.
Paul & Joanna look forward to a long association as collaborators and fellow artists.
