Mission Statement

Info

The multi-faceted mission of Freshman Fine Arts Gallery (FFA Gallery) aims to initiate collaborative art projects with youth centers and offer distinctive, contemporary art from the Hudson River Valley and diverse cultures around the world.

FFA Gallery aims to engage the whole community in a dialogue about art in the mid-Hudson River Valley. There will be collaborative art projects with youth centers in the mid-Hudson River Corridor. Professional artists will engage the youth and work together on collaborative art projects. The collaborative art projects with youth will accentuate the issues facing the community today.

FFA Gallery firmly believes that art must foster community involvement and improvement of the quality of life in community. A collaborative art project with Hispanic and Native American youth centers from New Mexico is currently in the works and under discussion. A local collaborative art initiative involving youth centers is also in the works in Beacon and its sister city, Newburgh.

FFA’s inaugural show had showcased the works of 4 NYC artists along with some locally, talented artists from December 28, 2006- February 15, 2007. The gallery now features Hudson River Art on a permanent basis. FFA Gallery will have monthly, rotating exhibitions.
